Things We've Been Doing

His first time in his highchair.

First bite of rice cereal

The first time he ate rice cereal, he only ate a couple of spoonfuls. He wasn't too happy to be trying something new!

Cooper watching Roxie during one of his daddy days. Please excuse the messy door. Roxie likes to jump on it. It is very hard to keep clean!

Second time with rice cereal. It went a little better. I had Matt hold him which he seemed to like. He ate about half of it.

In his Rain forrest Jumper. He loves this thing. When he jumps, music starts and light flash. When he first got in it at four months old, we would have to turn him around to different areas on the jumper, but yesterday he turned himself for the first time. Such a big boy!

He also loves his exersaucer. Thanks to Aunt Brandy for letting us borrow both! He is playing with the toy that he likes best. They turn and each make their own sound. He will sit there and turn them for quite a while.

I love those chubby cheeks!

His daddy was working really hard to get this smile. Whenever he sees the camera, he will just stop and stare at me, so I had to be quick!

Matt took this picture on one of his days. Matt was in our bedroom doing something and he could hear Cooper making a high pitched sound. He came out and Cooper was playing and talking to his feet.

This picture cracks me up. He is so serious! I was putting him down for a nap, and he just looked at me like"really Mom? Do I have to?"

First time to try sweet potatoes. They were a hit! I was afraid to heat up the whole package, because I thought he might not eat it all, but boy was I wrong. He ate the whole thing!

Messy boy!

All done

Cooper makes this high pitched sound now. It is so funny!

This next video is one I took today. He was supposed to be going to sleep, but I heard him on the monitor making the high pitched sound. Sorry about the poor shooting, but if Cooper sees me, he stops what he is doing. He notices me at the very end.

Matt was playing patty cake with Cooper. His laugh is just adorable! He is about 3 months old here.

Matt took this video on one of the days he was watching him while I was at work. Matt called me at work and asked where the camera was. I asked why he wanted to know. He said that Cooper had moved his way across the living room. We call this move "sideways crab".

This was taken when Cooper was 3 months old. He can now almost sit up by himself for a couple of seconds.

4 months

We just got back from Cooper's 4 month doctor's visit. He turned 4 months on Friday, but today was the fun/not so fun day to get to go to the doctor. I always look forward to the doctor while also hating them as well. I get to find out how much he weighs, how long, and also I get all my questions answered. But on the other hand, he gets his 4 month shots which of course is awful! Anyways, here are his stats from the visit.

Weight : 16 pounds 10 ounces
Length: 26 inches
Head: 42

Dr. Greer says that we can start him on rice cereal, and then after a week or so we can start him on Stage 1 baby food! I wasn't expecting the baby food until 6 months so that was a big surprise. He thinks Cooper is growing great and will probably be sitting on his own by 6months and probably crawling by 8 or 9 months. Right now Cooper is sleeping very soundly because his shots wore him out! I've never heard him scream like that. I started crying and quickly did the mommy thing and nurse him. I love nursing, because it will pretty much calm him down whenever I need to. The poor baby was all splotchy from crying so hard. I just kept having to remind myself that shots are for the best.

Here are some things that Cooper is doing at 4 months:

He sleeps 8 to 9 hours at night, wakes up to nurse, and then goes back to sleep for an hour or two.
He hates to takes naps, but still really needs them.
When he gets sleepy he rubs his eyes until they are all red. We say that he is starting to rub his eyebrows off!
He is making all kinds of sounds. He makes one sound right now that sounds like momma. Or course he doesn't know he is doing, but I like to think he does! :) He also makes a sound that sounds just like "Hi". It is so funny to hear him say it.
He can grab his toys and bring them to his mouth.
He loves to chew on his hands. So much so that he gags himself on his fingers. Hopefully he will grow out of that one soon.
He can roll from his back to his belly and from his belly to his back. He doesn't do either very often, but he can!
He likes to try to sit up by himself, and likes to stand.
He loves to look at the baby in the mirror and just talk to him.

Anyways, that's all I can think of right now. Can't wait to see what happens in the next couple of months.

This and That

I came into the room and thought Cooper was still playing, but he was very still. So I got very close and realized he was asleep like this! He is so funny. He had one hand in his ring and his foot propped up.
Matt watches Cooper when I work. I came home one day and this is how I found my child dressed or I should say not dressed. Matt says that he leaves him like this the majority of the day. Not exactly how I would do it, but I do love my naked baby! He is so soft and cuddly! And look at those rolls! I just want to eat him up!
Papa Tom stopped by last weekend on his way to a workshop. He said that Cooper has gotten so much bigger since the last time he saw him! I would have to agree. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to tote his car seat around. He is also almost grown out of his 3-6 months clothes. I put some 6-9 months on him and they fit great! But unfortunately most of his 6-9 months clothes are winter clothes. Definitely doesn't work in August! So I'm trying to stretch out his 3-6 months as long as possible. His 4 month appointment is the 16th. Can't wait to see how much he weighs and how long he is. I have a feeling that 16 years from now, he will be taller than his dad. Just a guess, but I think he is going to be a big boy!
