Trying to get Levi to crawl

Levi 8 months
Levi turned 8 months old January 14th! He is really starting to get his own personality! He likes to scream, talk really loud, spit, sing, etc. with his mouth. He also is starting to want to move! When we hold him, he tries to climb up our body, so we have to be careful now and make sure we hold him tight! He is also close to crawling. I know it could still be a couple of weeks, but he just needs to put it together. He is rocking, and diving, and planking, and bridging. :)
He is in the halfway point with food. Still eating baby food, but eating a lot of people food too. He gets frustrated with how long it takes to eat people food, so after a little while he wants his baby food shoveled in fast! Table food he has eaten so far: bread, grapes, pasta, bananas, beans, poppy seed chicken, crackers, tomatoes, green beans, chili, chicken tortilla soup.
Sleeping is still not great. I started sleep training for night time last night. He woke up twice and I went in there for intervals until he went back to sleep. He made it 12 and 1/2 hours without nursing. Here’s to hoping tonight goes well, and that he catches on quickly! Still taking 2 to 3 thirty minute naps a day. I keep waiting for these to lengthen, but so far no luck. He has started rolling to his side to sleep, so maybe if he rolls to his stomach he’ll sleep longer? Really I’m used to not getting naps, but since Cooper has given up his nap, it would be nice to have more of a break! But that’s ok. Anytime I get frustrated with his sleep schedule, I just remind myself that 8 months ago I almost lost him, and I quickly get over my frustration!
I love this little boy so much! I’m so glad God blessed me with boys. There is not a boring moment at our house!
If you made this picture bigger, you will see one brown-eyed boy and one blue-eyed boy!!
*Coop kept photo-bombing the pictures, so we had to take a couple with him!

Memphis Christmas
I am just now getting around to blogging about our Christmas with my family! I was so exhausted after doing the others, that I guess I just quit!
We had a wonderful time in Memphis with my family. We got up on Christmas Day and left Matt’s family to make it in time for lunch at my parents’ house. After lunch, we went to start opening presents. I’m not sure how your family does it, but we go around one at a time and open presents. It takes forever! But I love it! I love seeing what everyone gets. And last year, we started a new policy on gift buying – only for the kids! So it is fun watching the kids go through their presents. And they sure did rack up this year!
Cooper was once again in a funk and didn’t want to open any presents or smile for the camera. So I opened the majority of his presents, which meant I didn’t get a lot of pictures. :( Levi did really well though. He just kind of chilled through the whole thing and even took a nap in my arms during the chaos!
My poor mom was not feeling well, if you can tell by the pictures. She had a heart cath a couple of days earlier and started having an allergic reaction to the dye! She ended up going to the ER Christmas night and didn’t get home until 7 the next morning. Poor thing. She was an itchy mess. It took her awhile to get over too! So Lolly wasn’t her usually jolly self, but we made the best of it.
Levi got sick Friday, the day before we left. He screamed all day Friday and a lot of the way home. I took him to the dr. Sunday, and found out he had an ear infection. Poor baby!
Anyways, so thankful for all the presents, food, and family. It was a wonderful Christmas!

Nashville Christmas
After the party was over in Florence, we loaded up the boys and headed to Nashville Saturday night. The drive wasn’t the best ever, but it could have been a lot worse. It overlapped with Levi’s bedtime, and he sure let us know that he was not happy! Thankfully we were able to get him in bed not too much later than usual.
The next day was Sunday, so we headed to church. Both boys did great even though they were exhausted!
Monday, the extended family came over to celebrate and have lunch. We had way too much food and fun! The boys had fun chasing each other around. Cooper did much better this time opening presents. He still wasn’t interested in playing with any of the toys – just the opening part!
After the extended family left, we went upstairs to do our own little Christmas. The boys got so much stuff! We are blessed!! They have really enjoyed playing with all of it! My favorite present was my Kitchenaid mixer! I haven’t tried it out yet, but I can’t wait!!
Don’t miss the posts below!
