Sunday morning cuties

I tried to get a couple of pictures of the boys before church this morning. Cooper has decided recently that he isn't going to look at the camera. So I tried to get him to sit with Papa Tom, but that didn't seem to work either! :) Anyways at least Levi looks cute!

An artist in the making

Cooper loves to paint. Usually whenever he requests to paint, I give him water colors because they are the easiest for me to get ready. Well today I decided to pull out the "real" paints. He was so excited! He even kept all his paint brushes in the correct cup which really impressed me!

Picture stress

Yesterday we went to Chewacla park to get some family pictures made. I had a cute outfit picked out that required me to wear my super high heeled boots. I did not realize that we were going to be hiking 10 minutes down a hill to a waterfall for the pictures. I about fell several times and actually ended up holding our photographer's hand the majority of the way down. Good thing he is a friend. Coop was so worn out after the hike that he fell asleep on the floor when we got home. Anything for good pictures, right?

New phone

I was due for an update for a new phone, so I made the transition to an iPhone. I am loving it so far! Today I tried out the camera mode that allows you to see yourself while taking the picture. Here are a couple!

Trick or Treat

A week before Halloween, Cooper decided he did not want to be a giraffe (the costume my mom scored at a consignment sale), instead he wanted to be a monster.  So I got on Pinterest and did my best to find an age appropriate monster costume.  As I was making Cooper’s costume, I kept trying to get him to try it on to see how it was going.  He refused every time.  So I really thought that he would refuse come Halloween.  It was quite the opposite.  He was sooo excited!  Matt said that Cooper was bouncing on his bed during his rest time wanting to go trick-or-treating.  When we got to church, he couldn’t wait to put on his costume.  He spent the majority of the night running around with his buddy Van and having a great time.  When trunk-or-treat was over, we came home and Matt took Cooper out around our neighborhood to get some real action.  Cooper was so excited about all his candy.  He couldn’t wait to get home and eat some of it.  I think the only part he didn’t like was saying “trick or treat”.  We couldn’t get him to say it.  But he did say “thank you” to each person, so I guess that’s what counts!

Levi was a little giraffe this year.  My friend April had this costume, and it was perfect!  I think he is the cutest giraffe I’ve ever seen!

1st solo trip with 2 boys

A couple of weeks ago I decided to head to Memphis.  Matt was not able to come along, so I made the trip with just the boys.  I was very very nervous about the driving.  If you had asked me before Levi’s was born, I would not have thought this would be an issue.  I made many road trips with just me and Coop, but since Levi is a screamer, I had not tried it yet.  Well it went so much better than I expected.  The trip up took about 8 hours (normally a 5 hour trip).  Levi would only last about an hour and a half.  But I had told myself that if I had to stop a lot, it would be ok.  And it was.  Yes I was super stressed the whole time, but once I got the trip under my belt, I felt much better about the return home trip.

Anyways here is a rundown of our week:  we got to my parent’s house on Thursday.  We met Brandy and the girl’s at Mi Pueblo for dinner and then called it a night.  Friday, we just hung out and did a little shopping.  Saturday was Remle’s birthday party.  She had a cute costume party at their church building.  It was a lot of fun and the kids got to run off some steam.  Sunday was church and more hanging out.  Monday, I took the boys to my sister’s weekly play date.  I invited my high school friend Erin to come along.  It was great to get to see her after such a long time!  Tuesday was Election Day so schools were closed.  Brandy and the girls came over and we made Christmas ornaments.  Wednesday we came back home!
